Masternaut Three X acquires ICM Business Solutions
Leeds-based vehicle tracking and mobile solutions company, Masternaut Three X, has acquired ICM Business Solutions, a Microsoft Gold Partner and provider of Microsoft business application software.

Masternaut Three X supported a management buyout of the business from Phoenix IT Group.

The new business, which will be run by the previous management team of Rod Atherton and Andrew Wilkinson, will be 100% owned by Masternaut Three X and known as Three X Business Solutions Ltd.

ICM Business Solutions implement Microsoft business applications to the transport and logistics sector and offer a wide range of complimentary web-based software focusing primarily on Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

The deal follows the recent acquisition by Masternaut Three X of ISP Fibre City for ₤6 million.

Masternaut Three X managing director, Martin Port, told Telematics Update: "This acquisition is another part of the Masternaut Three X jigsaw allowing us to be a single-source provider of completely integrated mobile and office solutions. Telematics is becoming a big issue for businesses, with live information received from vehicles and mobile workers increasingly seen as a central component to service delivery and operational efficiency. ICM Business Solutions appealed to us as they had real depth of experience with Microsoft business software."

He added: "We see Masternaut Three X data and mapping becoming an integral part of frontline systems like CRM as well as providing vital data for back office systems."

With Masternaut Three X vehicle tracking and mobile applications developed in Microsoft.net and a significant new deal signed last month with Microsoft Virtual Earth, the addition of ICM Business Solutions enables Masternaut to offer a whole range of business services and hosted applications across the 1,500-stong Masternaut Three X customer base.

Telematics service provider + Back office systems integrator = a big step in the right direction! Wow, this acquistion is pretty significant - finally supply chains have a fighting chance of seamless operations if there is integration between the FMS (fleet management systems) and back end systems. Actually feeding FMS data into logistics management processes will be key to increasing the value of telematics for customers who are craving end-to-end visibility at all times. In fact TNT Innight are planning to discuss just that at the Logistics show in Amsterdam - fleet and logistics IT providers should sit up and take notice.
