We hear about biodiesel and low-emission fuel alternatives a lot at the moment.
Don't get me wrong ... thats a good thing - I'm just as much a fan of the ozone layer as the next man.
After attending the CV show, however, I came face to bumper with a vehicle about which I'd heard a lot less than I think I should have.
Have a look at this - manufactured for zero emissions yet performance the same as for a truck. Plus, can you imagine the savings on fuel costs?
As always, there's a catch. These fleets need recharging on a pretty regular basis. I worked out that to get from Southampton to Aberdeen the driver would have to stop and recharge the vehicle 5 times.
The solution? Legislative support that would implement the right roadside infrastructure; alternatively (or more easily / quickly), a more defined logistics process with designated stops around the UK. Nothing too technical, right?
