Galileo: GIOVE-B calling planet Earth …

Galileo's second experimental satellite, GIOVE-B, launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on April 26, 2008, has transmitted its first signals back to Earth, a distance of more than 23,000 km.


Microsoft withdraws proposal to acquire Yahoo!

Despite Microsoft upping its original offer to purchase by around $5 billion, Yahoo! wanted more.  About $5 billion more.  Or at least another $4 per share more than Microsoft's revised offer of $33.
